The proprietary GT500 Timken pinion bearing is different (higher efficiency, thinner and steeper pitch), some of the torque specs are higher (eg the ring gear bolts), the lash is set tighter (.008-.012), but the diff is the same puny traction-loc with some slightly beefed up clutch plates. It really isn't suitable for shockload over 500rwtq.
