Total War: Medieval 2: Total War: Rome 2 has grown into one of the best historical titles in the Total War series. These diverse factions made Total War:
Best faction to help break my addiction to playing as England? Probably about 90% of my playthroughs are with England, I just can't help it! Great starting position,Longbowmen are OP, infantry is well balanced and whilst cav isn't superb, it's certainly good enough. Also me being English plays into the bias a lot.
The aim of the start position is to help develop a plausible feeling Medieval game over the course of several hundred turns, not to hyper realistically model the situation right at the start. Some compromises were made with the start position for balance and for better development over the course of the game.
10. Dismounted Gothic Knights. With their distinct looks, plate armor, and two-handed blades, Dismounted Gothic Knights make up the Holy Roman Empire’s elite troops. However, I’m only putting them on the list because of what they could’ve been. Due to the nature of Medieval 2’s engine, Dismounted Gothic Knights and other two-handed
The more money you make, the more armies you can create, the more alliances you can sell. Your allies will declare war on you because its Medieval 2. And then, because you are strong and have other allies, they will want to make peace again. Always ask for provinces in peace treaties, this is how you grow your empire.
Even if both the prince and faction leader are killed at the same time (never mind same turn, literally exact same time), faction leadership simply falls to the next available family member on the spot. This was tested in near-vanilla conditions and I will confidently say that the logic applies across every submod to ever exist, plus vanilla
How To. 1. Go to C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign. 2. Open descr_strat.txt with notepad. 3. Copy the unlockable factions to playable. Save the file and close it. Make sure you delete the factions in the unlockable when you copy and paste it or it will not work.
Medieval 2 Faction Color. I cannot find the file that'll let you change the colors. I modded ME2 so I can actually answer this. You can't simply change faction colours (units and faction symbol-wise) through file changes. You'd need to go in and change the textures manually - they're TGA's if my memory serves correctly (or you need to convert
Medieval II has a mod called Broken Crescent, set in the Middle East and Western India. Rome I has a mod called Europa Barbarorum that massively expands the map out to the Middle East, including all of Saudi Arabia. Modded with Darthmod, Empire allows you to play as the Persians (though they're a minor faction and tend to get stomped).
General’s Bodyguard – 3. Peasant Archers – 2. Italian Spear Militia – 6. Muslim Archers – 1. Mounted Sergeants – 2. Mailed Knights – 2. Sicily start in a very central position just like the other Italian factions but unlike Venice & Milan, they are not at an immediate threat of being invaded by four factions at once.
